Shades of green in a light drizzle

I could almost say the same thing here as I did about the photo in last week’s post, except that we’ve left Arashiyama and are now in Kinkaku-ji Park, in a different part of Kyoto. Moreover, as you can see, there is now a light drizzle in the air, and that certainly makes a difference. The painter would probably feel less inclined to set up his easel, however much the gleaming wet roof, surrounded by lush greenery, might inspire him.

The drizzle softens all the contrasts, bringing the many different shades of green closer together and creating a subtle scene of intense beauty.
