Prone to exploitation and even bondage, these migrant workers in the brick kilns have one advantage over their middle class masters. Their physically demanding work in relative poverty protects them against the danger of obesity, the global epidemic that also threatens the leisure classes in India.

These strong and beautiful women are the true pillars of society.
