In Dutch one can have a head full of cobwebs, meaning you feel woolly-headed. When your head is a mess and you can’t think clearly, it may be interesting to have a good look at the cobwebs that have taken possession of your mind. They may not only be beautiful, delicate structures worthy of your admiration, but as a result of your focussed attention they may suddenly turn out to have disappeared altogether. Your woolly-headedness is gone and your mind is sharp again as before. It’s the method of meditation.
It may work against imaginary spiders and their cobwebs, but I don’t think there is much hope for the tree in the picture below. I’m afraid all it can do is to meditate itself to death.
