The sheltering tree

Mozambique, 1993, where, after many years of devastating conflict and war, people can breathe more freely once again.
A tree. Branches and foliage stretching out in a sweeping circle around the trunk. In its shade, around a hundred women have gathered, along with children and a few men. There is an atmosphere of tranquillity, peace and a sense of community. A certain harmony, a return to a natural state of being. A place free from the hidden landmines that would continue to make the countryside unsafe to set foot in for many years to come.
