At home in Kumaon

A row of old village cottages; the ground floor is for the animals, whilst the people live upstairs. All built, finished and painted in the traditional style.

But times have changed. In the background, we catch a glimpse of a new building, constructed from brick and cement. And so the charm and beauty of the old gradually fade away.

Will the same thing happen to these people, or will they be able to resist the temptations of the modern age? There is a television in the house and they have mobile phones in their hands, but the faces of these unspoilt village beauties still shine as brightly as ever.
