Sunset spot

Sunsets are sold as tourist attractions. In Luang Prabang, Phu Si Hill, right in the centre of the city, is considered the perfect spot to watch the sunset. So, as the day draws to a close, all the tourists in Luang Prabang climb Phu Si Hill, with their phones and cameras at the ready.

Watching the sunset amounts to taking part, in a rather foolish way, in a collective experience of the sunset.
