Pinus pinea
I love these pine trees. I used to call them Mediterranean pines because that’s the region from where I know them. Their oblique stems show they may have suffered but nonetheless have managed to withstand the force of Aeolus. People seem to call them Stone pines because of their hard cones. But I like their other popular name: Parasol or Umbrella pines. That’s what they are, offering generous protection against Helios’ mercilessly burning rays.
