Looking at you!

I had the feeling that someone was watching me. I turned round and saw this little owl with big eyes. We looked at each other for a while and I took a photo.
Now that I’m looking at the photo, I realise that most, if not all, other birds have one eye on the left and one on the right of their head. But owls have both at the front, just like us. Perhaps that’s why I felt as though someone was watching me as I walked past.
According to my book of Indian birds, this must be a spotted owlet. It has a large round head and staring yellow eyes. It likes to live in ruins. So here we have a textbook example.
