3 x Lady Tanetmit

When I look at ancient Egyptian art depicting people, I am often moved by the subtle beauty and refinement of a face, a mouth, a gaze. The thousands of years that separate us seem to vanish, and I feel as though I am standing face to face with the image of a timeless, living being. As is the case here with Lady Tanetmit.
In my photograph, I have placed the three parts of her sarcophagus, which were lying side by side on the ground, in an upright position, which heightens the sense of tangible closeness even further.
